In 2020, after more than 20 years in architecture, Antonio Bessa Cruz founded his studio in Porto with a clear yet ambitious goal:
to create spaces that are more than just buildings
— they are experiences that blend art and architecture.
His work is defined by a deep respect for materials, attention to detail, and an intuitive approach to design, resulting in spaces that feel both timeless and contemporary. Rather than chasing grand statements, Antonio focuses on quiet elegance, using raw materials in deliberate contrast—smooth and rough, cold and warm—to invite a deeper sensory connection to space.
Each project is a study in balance, whether in the construction of a building or the intricate design of an interior, always merging form and function in a way that feels natural yet expansive - extending their physical boundaries.
As his practice grows, António has developed a diverse portfolio spanning residential, commercial, and renovation projects across Portugal. Currently, he is focused on large-scale residential developments, hotels, office buildings, and private homes.
